Originally from Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, received his Bachelors of Music degree from the University of Maryland in College Park after a brief time at Nyack College and the York College of Pennsylvania. While attending these schools he had the privilege of studying with numerous renowned trumpet players including Donald Tison of the Baltimore Symphony, Thomas Smith of the New York Philharmonic, Stephen Hendrickson of the National Symphony, and Chris Gekker. He has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony, Fairfax Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, the New Orchestra of Washington, Alexandria Symphony, and National Philharmonic. A current member of the United States Marine Band, "President's Own", he also holds the position of principal trumpet in the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and the Apollo Orchestra. Additionally he is a founding member of the Barclay Brass ensemble.
A resident of Washington D.C., has performed on trumpet in a variety of genres across the globe. Amy is currently a trumpeter/cornetist in a premier military band that performs regularly at the White House and on national concert tours. She was recently a featured solo recitalist at the International Trumpet Guild conference, the International Women's Brass conference, a chamber recitalist at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, and was a featured soloist with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain. In addition, Amy has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the National Symphony, Brass Band of Battle Creek, the Monarch Brass, Seraph Brass, and was a featured soloist of the first National touring cast of the Tony and Emmy-award winning show, “Blast!.” Amy was also a member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra, a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Festival, Spoleto Music Festival, Pine Mountain Music Festival, Artosphere Festival, Disney World Collegiate All-Star Big Band, and recipient of the Roger Voisin Tanglewood Trumpet Award. She holds a degree in elementary education from Illinois Wesleyan University studying with Steve Eggleston and Judith Saxton, and a Master’s degree in trumpet performance from Northwestern University studying with Barbara Butler and Charles Geyer.
Trumpeter Brad Weil resides in Alexandria, Va and is currently a member of a premier military band that regularly performs at the White House. He attended Indiana University (IU) in Bloomington, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in music performance in 2003 and studied with Ed Cord and John Rommel.
Prior to joining “The President’s Own,” Gunnery Sgt. Weil performed with the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra in Kentucky and the Fort Wayne Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Terre Haute Symphony, and Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, all in Indiana.
He has been a substitute trumpet with the National Symphony, Baltimore Symphony and the St Louis Symphony Orchestra.
Is the assistant principal trumpet with The United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. Before joining the Air Force, Kris freelanced and studied in Rochester, NY, Chicago, IL, and Los Angeles, CA, performing with a wide array of ensembles including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra's MusicNow contemporary music program, the Rochester Philharmonic, The Chicago Philharmonic, and the Chicago Civic Orchestra. Originally from Rochester, NY, Kris earned an honor's diploma through the Eastman School of Music's preparatory division studying with Wesley Nance. He then went on to
earn a bachelor's degree at Northwestern University under the guidance of Charles Geyer, Barbara Butler and Christopher Martin before earning a professional studies certificate with James Wilt at the Colburn School.
